The Lancaster City Schools Instrumental Music Department encourages all students to become part of our band. There is a “place for everyone” in the Lancaster band program.
BEGINNING BAND
STEP 1 – In November, the directors will be at each school to demonstrate instruments. On that day, be sure your child tries out several different instruments. In collaboration with the directors, make an educated decision on which instrument is the best choice.
STEP 2 – Fill out the band registration form expressing that your child is interested in enrolling in band. Have your child turn it in promptly to his/her teacher.
STEP 3 – Attend the beginning band parent meeting in December. If you cannot attend, download and review this packet. (2017 packet will be available here soon)
STEP 4 – Obtain a quality, working instrument.
STEP 5 – Check the band schedule and be sure your child attends all classes for his/her instrument.
