Symphonic Band
Symphonic Band is the premier concert band at Lancaster High School, comprised of students in grades 10-12. Symphonic Band performs three concerts each year and participates in OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events. Participation in Solo and Ensemble Contest is an important part of the Symphonic Band curriculum. Private lessons are strongly recommended for all students in this performing group.

Freshman Band is open to all 9th grade students by audition. Freshman Band performs three concerts each year and participates in OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events. Participation in Solo and Ensemble Contest and private lessons are strongly recommended.

The Band of Gold
The award-winning Lancaster High School Band of Gold is the largest and most visible performing ensemble at Lancaster High School. The Band of Gold performs at football games, parades, community events, and several competitions throughout the fall. Summer rehearsals and band camp are required for membership.

Chamber Ensembles
In addition to participation in Solo and Ensemble Contest, many small chamber ensembles continue to exist throughout the year to continue challenging top musicians, to develop music independence, and to give back to the community. Small chamber ensembles rehearse with limited coaching from band staff and perform throughout the Lancaster area as ambassadors of Lancaster High School. Performance venues include: athletic events, community festivals, restaurants, church services, nursing homes, organizational meetings, school board meetings, elementary or junior high classes, or special assemblies.
Percussion Ensemble
The Lancaster High School Percussion Ensemble was formed to inspire students to further their skills in all aspects of performance, with emphasis on the keyboard idiom. Membership in this group is attained by auditions in the spring. Rehearsals are held two to four times per week, beginning in November.

Swinging Gales
The Swinging Gales is an extra-curricular jazz ensemble that explores various styles within the jazz and popular music genre, including swing, blues, funk, rock, latin, and more. The group was founded in 1966 at the same time as the vocal jazz group, the Singing Gales. All high school band members are eligible for membership. Non-band members may audition on piano, guitar, and bass, or as a vocal soloist.
Pep Band
Pep Band is an extra-curricular ensemble which performs at home basketball games. Membership is open to any high school band member.
