For the third consecutive year, a Lancaster High School concert band has earned the top rating at the state level. The last time this happened was 34 years ago.
On April 29, members of the Symphonic Band took the stage at Gahanna Lincoln High School and performed three selections for a panel of adjudicators. The band received an overall rating of “Superior”, the highest rating given at Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) events.
For the past two years, the marching band has also received a “Superior” rating at the state level. This marks the first time in school history that the LHS band has achieved this honor in both marching band and concert band season for two consecutive years. Congratulations band members on making history!
Symphonic Band, along with Freshman Band, will finish the year with the annual Spring Band Concert on Thursday, May 18 in the LHS Auditorium. The concert begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are not required, but donations will be accepted at the door.
