Low Brass Masterclass – July 27

Low Brass students:

Every year, many talented professional musicians come to Lancaster to perform in the Lancaster Festival Orchestra.

This year, Adam Snider, principal tubist with the Lancaster Festival Orchestra, will be presenting a masterclass for all area low brass players of all ages.

Date: Friday, July 27th, 2018.

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Lancaster High School (Band Room or Auditorium).

Who: all area low brass students are invited and encouraged to participate.

Format:

  • Solo Piece by Adam Snider
  • Fundamentals session with all attendees. Please bring your instruments!
  • Main “master class” portion: working one on one with students on prepared solos/etudes/etc.
  • Q&A

Adam Snider is the Principal Tuba of the Boise Philharmonic and Lancaster Festival Orchestras. He is currently the Instructor of Tuba at Boise State University. Adam has performed and given master classes across the U.S. as well as in China, Japan, and Chile. Seeking to promote the music of our time, he has founded new music ensembles at the University of Nevada, Reno, and Western Michigan University. Adam has commissioned new music for tuba from composers Miguel Chuaqui, Brian Kelly, Rudolf Rojahn, Karen Olson, Tim Chatwood, and Lachlan Fife.
