Marching Band Families,
The next few weeks begin on busy season with the Band of Gold. There’s a lot going on, so I wanted to highlight several items.
Our rehearsal schedule is always available on the band website. If you are on the calendar, it is sometimes easier to go to the “Agenda” tab on the top. If you click on the event, details will appear, including starting and ending times.
As the season progresses, absences become more detrimental to the band’s success. 100% attendance is always the goal. If absences are unavoidable, be sure to fill out an Absence Form online.
Band Picture Day is Friday
All students should already have been fitted for a uniform. For those who haven’t, be sure to contact Debbi Hoagland.
Friday is Band Picture Day. There are order forms that will be passed out this week during sectionals. If you are ordering a group picture, be sure to write on the order form which group it’ll be (i.e. “Full Band” or “Clarinets”).
Band members will need their black socks and Dinkles (band shoes). Wear shorts and a dark t-shirt. Gloves are not needed for pictures.
Here is Friday’s schedule:
8:30-9:30 AM – Band room is open to get on uniforms (anytime during this window)
9:00-9:45 AM – Individual Pictures (first come, first serve)
10:00 AM – Group Pictures (everyone needs to be ready by this time)
10:45 AM – More individual pictures (until finished)
Band members are free to go after all of their pictures are finished and their uniform is put away.
Following Two Weeks
The two weeks of Pre-Band Camp and Band Camp will be held at Thomas Ewing Junior High School. Here is the schedule:
July 26, 27, 29, 30 – 9 AM to 3 PM (No Wednesday practice. Bring a lunch)
August 2-6 – 9 AM to 4 PM (Bring a lunch)
